Book Review: Heist Society

Title- Heist Society
Author- Ally Carter
Pages- 287 pages
Rating- 5 out of 5
Companion/Sequels Books- Uncommon Criminals

Goodreads Synopsis- When Katarina Bishop was three, her parents took her on a trip to the Louvre…to case it. For her seventh birthday, Katarina and her Uncle Eddie traveled to Austria…to steal the crown jewels. When Kat turned fifteen, she planned a con of her own—scamming her way into the best boarding school in the country, determined to leave the family business behind. Unfortunately, leaving “the life” for a normal life proves harder than she’d expected.

Soon, Kat's friend and former co-conspirator, Hale, appears out of nowhere to bring Kat back into the world she tried so hard to escape. But he has a good reason: a powerful mobster has been robbed of his priceless art collection and wants to retrieve it. Only a master thief could have pulled this job, and Kat's father isn't just on the suspect list, he is the list. Caught between Interpol and a far more deadly enemy, Kat’s dad needs her help.

Personal Thoughts- First off, and most importantly, I just want to say that I absolutely loved this book. This book was such a fantastic read and good for all ages. I highly recommend everyone checking out this book.
I love the plot. Kat grew up in a family full of thieves, and trying to get away from the business is harder then she thought. But is leaving the business what she really should do? This story was amazing! I loved how they traveled to so many places in this book, and the way the chapters were set up. I thought that was interesting and unique. I also loved the crew and how close they seemed together. They worked so well together it was obvious that they have worked together before. Continuing on with that, I really loved that fact that they were teenagers. I think the fact that this story dealt with them being young, just made me love it even more.
Some things I didnt like about the book was the fact that the villian/bad guy in this story wasn't so....bad. To me he didn't seem terrifying. That was a disappoint for me because I was expecting him to be terrifying and someone you didn't want to mess with, and I just didn't get that from him. I was also disappointed in the fact that we didn't get to know more about the crew. I really like each member of the crew, and you could definitely tell that they were all close to each other, however, I just wish we got to know more about them individually and as a crew.

Characters-  Oh the characters. All I'm going to say about them is the fact that I loved each and every one of them! Kat, Hale, Gabrielle, Simon, Angus and Hamish, and then Nick later on! Simply amazing!

I already bought the sequel, Uncommon Criminals, and I cant wait to read it!
