Book Review: Divergent (SPOILERS)

Synopsis- "In Beatrice Prior’s dystopian Chicago world, society is divided into five factions, each dedicated to the cultivation of a particular virtue—Candor (the honest), Abnegation (the selfless), Dauntless (the brave), Amity (the peaceful), and Erudite (the intelligent). On an appointed day of every year, all sixteen-year-olds must select the faction to which they will devote the rest of their lives. For Beatrice, the decision is between staying with her family and being who she really is—she can’t have both. So she makes a choice that surprises everyone, including herself"

My Thoughts: This book was 487 pages of pure AWESOMENESS. I seriously fell in love with this book. I started reading Monday night and finished Wednesday afternoon, so as you can see, I couldn't put it down.

Things I loved- FOUR-TOBIAS!! He was absolulty amazing and I love how mean he was. It was entertaining to read. I liked that Beatrice changed her name to "Tris". That made me like her more. I couldn't stand the Beatrice. I loved the Four and Tris romance. It made me "awww" for the most part. However, my ABSOLUTE favorite parts from the book were the simulations, and the fear landscapes. I thought that those were amazing!! The way the author described them was great!! I felt like I was really there.I loved when Four took Tris into the fear landscaping room to have her face his fears with him. I honestly have to say that that was my favorite part.

Things I didnt like- There aren't too many. I didn't like the fact that they didn't really explain too much about being Divergent. So in the beginning I was like"why is it so bad to be divergent?" Then when they explained that it was because of control, I was like "okay" waiting to read more, but that was it. They didn't explain anything more about it. Another thing I didn't really like was when you find out that Four is a nickname and you realize his real name is Tobias, it was suppose to be this big moment, but was it just me, or did anyone else know that Four was Tobias the WHOLE time. I mean I saw it right from when we meet him. Maybe it was just me, I dont know.

Anyways, this was an AMAZING book, and I highly recommend it. Comments, thoughts, reactions?  Anything? Leave them below. Lets discuss the book!

  1. I am in a jam, I have a school project due on the book, and I am only 78 pages in, I really only need key points in the book because I have to make a journal with important events, any way I can get some help?
