I know that this is a late post since this clip came out a bit ago and the extended trailer has already been released[***EXTENDED TRAILER TALK COMING SOON***] but I still wanted to post this.
So lately I've been hearing a lot of people saying that in this clip, Augustus seems very "pretentious". Do I agree with that statement? Yes, of course! The thing is, for those of us that have read the book, Gus is a pretentious character, especially in the beginning of the novel. It's one of his character flaws.
This scene is exactly word for word from the book. It's his character! Gus wants to be important. He wants a big and remembered life, and so that is how he acts. He doesn't just do simple things in his life, he goes over the top!
This clip just makes me more excited for this movie. What are your thoughts?
